How is reading time calculated?
Reading time is estimated at an average reading speed of about 200 words per minute, rounded up to the nearest minute.
Does this tool count spaces as characters?
The "Characters" stat includes spaces. We also show a separate "Chars (no spaces)" count if you need it, for example for platforms with strict character limits.
Is my text saved or sent anywhere?
No. All counting happens locally in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored.
How are sentences and paragraphs counted?
Sentences are counted by detecting text ending in '.', '!' or '?'. Paragraphs are counted by detecting blank lines between blocks of text.
